Early Primary School will register this year’s kindergarten and pre-kindergarten children this Monday through Friday, July 30 through Aug. 3. Students in grades 1 and 2 who are new to the district, may also register at that time.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, and must reside within the Early school district. Parents may register their children in the primary school office from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. and from 1 until 3 p.m. any of the five days of registration.

The person enrolling the child is required to bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and records from previous schools. Also, Social Security cards for the child and person enrolling the student, proof of residency and a photo identification of the person enrolling the child is required.

To qualify for pre-kindergarten, children must turn 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 and fall into one or more of the following criteria: Be unable to speak or comprehend English; be homeless; or qualify for free or reduced school lunches. Also, children who whose parents are active duty uniformed members of the U.S. Armed Forces may

qualify.

Early Primary School’s “Back-To-School” Celebration for all children, pre-kindergarten through second grade, is scheduled for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in the classrooms. On that Friday, children will meet their teachers; locate their classrooms, desks and lockers; bring their supplies; and purchase breakfast and lunch tickets at that time. Classes begin the following Monday, Aug. 27.
