The Brownwood Rotary Club will hold its annual Arts and Crafts Show this weekend at the Brownwood Coliseum, just as a major community service project has gotten under way.
The club’s arts and crafts show, a juried event for which all items are handmade, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the coliseum. Admission is $2 per person, and each admission on Saturday represents one chance to win a flat-screen television set, or two chances on all Sunday admissions.
Vendors from throughout the state have again reserved booths.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club project which is funded by the show got under way Thursday with the delivery of dictionaries to third grade students. For the third year, the club is presenting third graders with their own personal paperback dictionary – a specially edited volume designed for young people that age.
Club members made a presentation at Woodland Heights Elementary School on Thursday, and have presentations scheduled at other schools in future weeks.
