A Brown County Grand Jury returned three indictments against a Brownwood state school correctional officer stemming from the alleged assault of a student.
Grand jurors indicted Dusty Ogle, 47, of Comanche, on Thursday on charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury by a public servant; two counts of tampering with a governmental record; and tampering with a witness, according to 35th District Court documents.
Ogle was arrested March 15 in connection with a March 6 incident. Authorities allege in court documents that he slammed a female inmate against a dormitory wall and floor, lacerating her chin, then made false entries about the incident on a report.
He was arrested April 12 on a witness tampering charge. Authorities believe Ogle “approached (another) staff person to find out what her statement was going to be” regarding the March 6 assault, Texas Youth Commission spokesman Jim Hurley said earlier.
Hurley also said earlier that the TYC had notified Ogle his termination was being recommended.
