Special to the Bulletin

The Pecan Valley Chapter of the Red Cross will host a music themed blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the chapter office in Brownwood. All those who donate at the “And the Beat Goes On” themed blood drive will receive a music-inspired T-shirt as a thanks for the donation.

“So, come on out, roll up a sleeve and give blood to help keep the beat of life going on,” said Krystin Dunahoo, American Red Cross donor recruitment account manager. “After-wards, you will feel like a star, no matter what kind of music you enjoy.”

“Together we can help make sure the beat goes on for those who will need lifesaving blood,” she said.

Fewer than 8 percent of healthy, eligible citizens in the United States who can donate actually do, and there is a constant need for blood.

Donors need to be in good health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old, and a picture ID is needed to donate.
