A strip search at the Brown County Jail yielded a baggie of methamphetamine concealed on the body of a woman who’d just been brought in following her arrest at a traffic stop, police said.

Police had already found other baggies of methamphetamine in the woman’s 1997 Mustang after the traffic stop at 12:07 a.m. Sunday, a report by officer Brandon Arnold states.

Crystal Jackson, 27, was booked into jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and is free on $5,000 bond, jail records state.

Arnold stopped Jackson’s car after seeing her run a stop sign at Second and Coggin, and he saw an open container of Jack Daniels whiskey on the back floorboard, Arnold’s report states.

She denied consent to search, but Arnold said he could search because he had seen the open container in plain sight.

After police found meth baggies in the car, the woman told police she had a meth pipe and another meth baggie in her clothing. Officer Chandra Means found a pipe but no other contraband in her clothing, Arnold’s report states.

The arrest was one of several weekend arrests involving drugs or alcohol.

Arnold was dispatched to an accident at Austin and Avenue W at 10:31 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses said they saw a Honda Civic going east on Avenue W, approaching Austin Avenue at high speed. The car crashed through a barricade at the intersection, Arnold’s report states, quoting witnesses.

The driver, Michael Christopher, was standing near the car. He said he was intoxicated and knew he had messed up, Arnold’s report states. Arnold arrested Christopher, 31, on a DWI charge, jail records state.

Guardian EMS took Christopher to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for evaluation, but he declined medical treatment.

Arnold was parked in the 1000 block of Austin at 1:03 a.m. Monday when he clocked a vehicle going across the overpass at 59 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The driver turned onto Coggin, and Arnold got the vehicle stopped in the 1500 block of Coggin. Arnold arrested Dorrie Jacobsen, 48, of Portland, on a DWI charge, jail records state.
