A 19-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges Sunday after his mother told officers he kicked her crutches, kicked a kitten and threatened to kick the cast on her leg, police said.
Joshua Carson wasn’t supposed to be at the home in the 3000 block of Cottage because a court had issued a protective order against him on behalf of his 40-year-old mother, police said.
Carson was booked into the Brown County Jail Sunday on charges of violating a protective order, interfering with a 9-1-1 call, cruelty to animals and making a terroristic threat against a family member, jail records state.
Carson was first arrested Saturday in the 3000 block of Cottage on a charge of violating a protective order, a report by officer Trey Weathermon states.
Carson was released from jail on a public recognizance bond, jail records state.
On Sunday, officers Troy Grusendorf and Dustin Bode went to the home on a report of a domestic disturbance. Carson’s mother, who had a cast on her leg, invited the officers inside and said her son was in the home. Carson was arrested without incident, Grusendorf’s report states.
Carson’s mother told the officers he showed up unannounced and yelled and cursed at her. When she tried to call for help, her son unplugged the phone line, the woman told the officers.
She told the officers he kicked her crutches across a room, then kicked a 6-week-old kitten across a room and into a wall, Grusendorf’s report states. When she told him not to kick the kitten, he replied “it’s my (expletive) cat and I will kick it if I want to!” the report states. “If you don’t like it, I will kick you in your (expletive) cast!”
