A Bangs man was arrested late Monday night after a police pursuit that ended when the man wrecked his pickup, police said.

Timothy Schoen, 29, was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and driving with an invalid license, jail records state.

Brownwood police Sgt. Vince Ariaz tried to make a traffic stop around 11 p.m. in the 1600 block of Avenue H, reports by Ariaz and officer Danny Hutchins state.

The driver initially appeared to be stopping, but then sped away with Ariaz in pursuit. The pursuit ended up on County Road 257 about 4 miles south of Brownwood, where the pickup hit a tree and fence, reports state.

The driver was also cited for running several stop signs.

In an unrelated incident, a driver and passenger were arrested on drug-related charges after a traffic stop.

Officer Troy Grusendorf made the stop shortly after 6 p.m. in the 700 block of Melwood. The driver, Susan Chrane, 33, and passenger David Deeds, 44, were both charged with possession of under 2 ounces of marijuana, jail records state.

Chrane was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after police discovered a Soma pill as part of the search, Grusendorf’s report states.
