A 17-year-old Bangs girl who was airlifted after an accident Friday in Bangs was undergoing tests and was still in critical condition Monday at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge hospital in Austin, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Sierra Nickole Stanford was one of six people injured in the accident, which killed Rebecca Kay Ocasio, 34, of Bangs, the DPS said earlier.
Stanford was the driver of a Ford Taurus with five occupants that collided with a Chrysler with two occupants at 1:50 p.m. The accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67/84 and FM 586 near Bangs.
The DPS identified the others injured in the accident as Ashley Salinas, 23, and Brittany Salinas, 14, both of Austin; Hope Russell, 16, of Brownwood; Reginald Anderson, 29, of Bangs; and Chrystal Stimpson, 21, of Bangs.
They were taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, the DPS said. A hospital spokeswoman said Stimpson is hospitalized in good condition. Reginald Anderson and Ashley Salinas were treated and released. The spokeswoman said she could not release information on the minors without their families’ consent
