Early school trustees will get an update on the construction progress of the Early Elementary School, high school additions and renovations and the football stadium when the board meets in regular session on Thursday.

The meeting of the Early Independent School District Board is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the board conference room of the district administration building.

A public hearing for the discussion of the annual Academic Excellence Indicator System will be held at the start of the meeting.

Construction updates lead the regular agenda items. The board will also:

Consider approval of accepting negotiated cost to build the revised indoor practice facility or “Big Room;” Consideration for approval of the 2006-07 financial audit; Consideration for approval of budget amendments; Consideration to extend the agreement between KBWD and the EISD; Consideration for approval to revise “FB” local policy; Consideration for approval of District Improvement Plan; Consider and take action as necessary on the purchase of real estate which consists of 0.01 acres of property and is described as Patrick Sullivan Survey 17, Abstract 827, Tract 1 foot x 418 feet, Early, Brown County, Texas 76802. The seller is the Estate of Ben D. Sudderth. The sale price is $2,500, plus the costs related to the conveyance; Consideration for approval of an amendment to the 1051 Early Blvd., Early, Brown County, Texas 76802, Patrick Sullivan, Survey 17, Abstract 827, 1.942 acres Real Estate Sales Contract; Consideration for approval of accepting a donation from Verizon for a “computer on wheels” for the EISD middle school; Discuss the memorandum of understanding for the prevention resource center.

The meeting will include standard reports from the school board president, school principals, athletic director, business manager and superintendent.
