Cursing and a word usually used as a racial epithet were directed at a police officer who investigated a report of drug use outside a Brownwood apartment Sunday night.

“(Expletive) you. (Exple-tive) the police,” officer Brandon Arnold’s report quoted a man as telling him in the 300 block of Bluffview.

Steven Navarro, 19, was booked into the Brown County Jail on a charge of resisting arrest, jail records state.

Francisco Diaz Jr., 22, was jailed on a charge of evading arrest or detention and on a surety withdrawal for larceny and theft of a firearm in Bexar County, records state.

Arnold was dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview on a report that four people were standing near a car smoking marijuana.

As Arnold approached, a man ran toward a nearby apartment, and Arnold caught him as he was preparing to go inside, Arnold’s report states. Another man approached Arnold, and Arnold told the man to sit on the stairs. The man climbed several stairs before Arnold reached him, and tried to pull away from the officer, Arnold’s report states.
