Plans are under way now for the annual Veterans Day parade and program, Nov. 11.

Theme for this year’s parade is “Generational Veterans,” and there is a contest for the parade entry that best fits that theme, as well as the most patriotic float or entry. The parade will start at 10 a.m. or shortly after on Nov. 11, which is a Tuesday, from the Brownwood Coliseum. Individuals, groups and service organizations are encouraged to participate in the parade with an entry, and, of course, those who are not in the parade are urged to watch it as it winds through downtown Brownwood.

Parade participants should line up at the coliseum beginning at 9:30 a.m. Judging is scheduled for 9:45 a.m.

Following the parade, at approximately 11 a.m., a patriotic program is planned and will be held at the Stuart and Margaret Coleman Plaza. Capt. Jeff Nash will be the speaker and the men’s quartet, 4xGrace will be singing.
