Late developments announced concerning the ninth annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration Friday through Sunday:

Concert tickets in demand

Sales of tickets online for this year’s events doubled last year’s total this week and are on target to be the best ever. Headliners will be Brandon Rhyder on Friday, Tracy Lawrence on Saturday and Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88s on Sunday.

Parade grand marshal

Debbie Morelock has been named grand marshal for the Feels Like Home Parade set for 10 a.m. Saturday. She was selected for her efforts as a “Big” with Big Brothers Big Sister, her support of the military, her entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to the Brownwood Reunion Celebration and numerous other civic activities.

Reunion recycling

The Brownwood Reunion Celebration has taken another step towards becoming a green event. In partnership with Keep Brownwood Beautiful, the celebration plans to recycle all cans and plastic at this year’s Reunion. All proceeds from the recycling will benefit the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center. All visitors are asked to help in the effort by placing recyclables in correct trash bins.

Helicopters to land

The 21st Calvary Brigade Air (Combat) has accepted an invitation to land helicopters for Fort Hood at this year’s Reunion. From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, a Huey and an Apache helicopter will be on display.
