Motivational speaker Mamie McCullough, a graduate of Howard Payne University, will be featured in “Mosaic,” a one-day conference for “senior adults of all ages” Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment at Lake Brown-wood.

The deadline to register is Sunday at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, Brownwood. Cost is $10, which includes the price of lunch.

“We believe this conference will benefit our senior adults and be a great source of encouragement, fellowship and entertainment,” James Ervin, minister of music and senior adults at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, said.

The conference will begin at 9 a.m. with a general session, with breakout sessions at 10 and 11:15 a.m.

Lunch at 12:30 p.m. will be followed by a closing session featuring McCullough.

She has been speaking to audiences throughout the country for 25 years, saying “it’s not what happens to you, but what you make out of what happens that counts.” She uses her background and personal experiences to develop a presentation designed to offer encouragement and inspiration.

Participants will be able to attend two of the following breakout sessions: Genealogy, Creating Greeting Cards, Digital Photography and Your Computer, Know What to Ask Your Health Providers, Knowing and Understanding Legal Issues for Senior Adults, Build Your Own Edible Nativity Scene, Using Your Digital Camera, and Native Plants of Central Texas.

Music will be provided by “The Staff Infection” from Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. For information, call 646-1506.
