A Brownwood man was indicted on a stalking charge in connection with a man’s efforts to win a woman’s favor, 35th District Court records state.

Also indicted were three men who are accused of providing contraband to inmates when they worked as Brown County jailers.

The July session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned the stalking indictment against Charles Daniel Johnson Jr., 34.

Johnson was arrested June 15 at Victory Life Church after a deputy responded to a report of an unwanted person on the property, a deputy’s report states. Johnson had already been issued a criminal trespass warning for the property and had been counseled by church staff to stay away from the woman, according to the deputy’s report and testimony at a hearing for a protective order on July 5.

Grand jurors returned indictments for prohibited substances in a correctional facility against former jailers Anthony Spivey, Josh Crowder and Jason Behler, court records state. The three were fired following an investigation by sheriff’s officials.

Inmate Pancho Villarreal was indicted on a charge of criminal attempt — prohibited substances in a correctional facility. Another inmate, Harold Johnson, was also charged after the investigation. It was unclear if he has been indicted.

All three former jailers are accused of providing snuff to an inmate, and two are accused of allowing an inmate to use their cell phones, complaints state.

Ike Caleb Moseley, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.

Patrick Cliental Thompson, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.

Brandon Allen Fitzpatrick, evading arrest.

Courtney Dewayne Duffie, assault family violence, robbery.

Justin Ray Pesina, assault family violence.

James Matthew Roberts, assault family violence.

Magan Marie Maxwell, evading arrest.

Rogelio Barboza Castro, assault family violence.

Casey Bent Cockerham, burglary of a habitation.

Desi Ramon Lujan, burglary of a habitation.

Todd Randall Doster, possession of a controlled substance.
