Both the Brownwood and Early school boards and the Early City Council will hold meetings today as each makes preparations for their new fiscal years.
Early City Council will meet at noon at city hall to consider approving the proposed budget for the 2008-2009 year, and set a date for a public hearing. Those are the only action items shown on the agenda.
The Brownwood Inde-pendent School District board of trustees has called a 5:30 p.m. meeting at the school administration office, 2707 Southside, for action on employment contracts. A budget workshop will follow.
The regular monthly meeting awaits members of the Early Independent School District board of trustees, which will convene at 6 p.m. in the elementary school library, 965 Early Blvd.
Reports will be presented by the board president, principals, athletic director, assistant superintendent and business manager. The superintendentís report will include information on enrollment, construction and donations.
Action items before Early school trustees include the school safety audit, the 2008-2009 appraisal calendar, approval of FDAS appraisers for the coming school year, approval of sale of additional bonds, consideration of various donations, review of local policies including the investment policy, approval of donating scrap field turf to the Athletic Booster Club, approval of a contract with Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson LLP for administrative appeal and any judicial appeal of property value study findings conducted by the comptrollerís office, and consideration of granting an easement to Oncor Electric Delivery on McCullough Drive for additional electric facilities to service the EISD practice facility.
A closed session may be needed for personnel matters. The board will return to open session to take any action.
