End of school this month is on the minds of Brownwood students, and such matters will also be before members of the board of trustees of the Brownwood Independent School District when they meet at 6:30 p.m. today.

Trustees will also consider approval of bids for a phase of construction work to be done at Brownwood High School under the bond issue approved by voters in 2005.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the board room in the administrative office at 2707 Southside.

The agenda for the May meeting includes reports from Superintendent Reece Blincoe on graduation, scheduled for May 30 at the Brownwood Coliseum, and the annual employee appreciation dinner. Other items on his report are a presentation on a San Francisco workshop, recognition of a Title 1 Distinguished School, athletic director’s report, team building and goal-setting workshop with the Texas Association of School Boards, and financial reports.

New business, including items for which action may be taken before the board include consideration of approval from Harris Broadband for fiber connection to all campuses, consideration of extending the high school custodial contract with Draco’s Janitorial, consideration of approving submitted bids and guaranteed maximum price for the 700 Wing of the high school, and personnel needs of the district.

A closed session may be needed for personnel.

Other items on the agenda include reports of special committees or individuals, recognition of visitors, audience participation and general communications.
