Brown County Commis-sioners Court will hear a presentation from Brent Bush on a CodeRED program for the county, and possibly consider action approving it today.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. at the commissioners courtroom on the first floor of the Brown County Courthouse. The meeting is open to the public.
CodeRED is the name of an Internet-based emergency warning system that has already been implemented by the cities of Brownwood and Early. Within a few minutes, thousands of telephone numbers entered into a governmental data base are called by the system with a recorded message, usually regarding emergency situations like flash flood, severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings.
In other business, County Judge Ray West is expected to present for consideration and approval a professional services contract with Ron Morrison. Morrison is a hydrology engineer who local governing bodies are considering asking to obtain data that can be used to present their case with FEMA regarding an appropriate flood plain level.
Sheriff Bobby Grubbs is on the agenda to seek approval of employee changes.
The court will also hear reports, consider and approve bills and receive the treasurerís report.
