Brownwood police served a search warrant Monday morning and arrested a man and his wife after finding methamphetamine.

Buddy Allgood, 42, and Laticia Allgood, 28, were charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance, Brown County Jail records state.

About eight officers, assisted by Sgt. Roy Parrack of the Department of Public Safety, served the warrant at 8 a.m. at the Allgoods’ residence in the 2500 block of Coggin, Brownwood narcotics officer Bruce Spruill said.

The Allgoods were among four people arrested on March 22 when sheriff’s officials served a search warrant at a home in the 1100 block of Duke.

Officer James Fuller arrested Antonio De La Paz, 25, on multiple misdemeanor warrants including escape from custody after a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Austin. Officer Troy Grusendorf arrested Jimmy Wiley, 30, on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and driving with an invalid license after an attempted traffic stop. Grusendorf followed the driver with his emergency lights activated until the driver stopped in front of a home in the 1400 block of Avenue B.

The driver started to walk away, but Grusendorf stopped the man and asked him why he ran. “Because I don’t have a driver’s license, man. It’s my kid’s birthday and I just wanted to get to the party,” Grusendorf’s report quoted the man as saying.

Officer Dustin Bode was dispatched to the Town and Country store, 601 W. Commerce, on a report of an intoxicated female with a baby. Bode arrived to see a woman sitting in a car with the door open, talking on a cell phone, with a baby in a child restraint in the back seat.

The woman asked Bode where she was so she could get someone to pick her up. Bode arrested Amy Renaud, 23, on a charge of public intoxication. Bode searched her car and found marijuana, and he charged her with possession of marijuana, Bode’s report states. The baby was released to the woman’s boyfriend.

A woman told officer Chandra Geis her estranged husband rammed her parked car with his truck in the 4400 block of Delwood. Officer Ray Slayton was dispatched to the Driftwood Apartments, 501 Main, on a report of a loud party. Slayton smelled marijuana when someone answered his knock. Slayton arrested Robert Breunig, 21, on a charge of possession of marijuana. Slayton radioed that he was at an altercation at Hall and Almond and requested backup because of the number of people present. Officer Brandon Arnold responded and saw several people standing around Slayton.

A man cursed and became belligerent, which seemed to incite the crowd, Arnold’s report states. Arnold arrested Darrell Franklin, 28, on a charge of disorderly conduct. A woman began cursing, and Sherry Franklin, 24, was arrested on the same charge.

Someone spray-painted graffiti at Calvary Baptist Church, 1719 Ninth. Deputy Scott Bird arrested Roberto Sanchez, 19, on a charge of aggravated assault after an altercation in a car parked in the 2800 block of Highway 279. A man hit a woman in the head with a beer bottle, Bird’s report states. Officer Sky Self arrested Phillip Jones, 48, on an assault charge after a family dispute in the 4200 block of Ninth. Self arrested Jacob Golub, 19, on a charge of possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at Vincent and Avenue G.
