Trustees of the Brownwood Independent School District will consider setting a proposed tax rate for public notice when they meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the school administration office at 2707 Southside Dr.
The board will also consider setting an Aug. 27 meeting at which they will formally adopt the 2008-2009 budget and tax rate. The tax rate adopted then cannot be higher than the figures in the public notice.
In other business on the meeting agenda, Superinten-dent Reece Blincoe will present the final accountability ratings for the school district.
The board will consider approval of Update 83 as recommended by the Texas Association of School Boards, the coming year’s professional development appraisal calendar, a fuel bid for the next school year, the vendor list for instructional, office, athletic, custodial supplies and furniture and personnel. A closed session may be needed for personnel.
The board will also consider an order calling for a trustee’s election on Nov. 4 for Place 5 and for the unexpired terms in Place 2 and Place 4.
The superintendent will present reports on finances, the 2008-2009 budget calendar, and construction and maintenance.
