The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce plans to be “Takin’ Care of Business” at its 13th annual Business Showcase at the Brownwood Coliseum Thursday.

Those attending will be greeted by a full house with 75 booths reserved, chamber Executive Vice President Laura Terhune said.

Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a “Taste of Brownwood” is planned from 4 to 6 p.m.

Tickets at $2 each are available in advance at the chamber office, and will also be sold at the door.

Chamber officials said the showcase will signify the start of the autumn and holiday shopping season.

The first 500 people through the doors will receive a cloth tote bag, ideal for holding giveaways many businesses will be offering.

Several grand door prizes will also be given away, including a 37-inch flat panel television and a television entertainment center from Shaw TV and a home or business security alarm system from Ener-Tel Security Systems. Additional door prizes will be given away throughout the day from the various vendors.

Booths will display everything from new fall clothing fashions and scrubs to cabinets, all terrain vehicles and balloon decorations.

Three booth awards for decorations that interpret the showcase theme will be awarded at 5 p.m.

The Texas 4-H Center will hand out treats to the crowd, and serve lunch to the exhibitors. A wine reception for exhibitors will be held Wednesday evening.
