A woman told police she gave an antique teapot to a man so he could sell it and keep the money. She said he supports himself by selling antique items.

When the man looked inside the teapot, his faced changed and she asked him what was in there. He said nothing was inside, then tucked the teapot under his jacket and walked out to his truck.

The woman realized later that $700 in “mad money,” which she was saving to have her teeth replaced, was missing. She told police she believes she had put the money in the teapot and forgotten about it.

Officer Aaron Taylor arrested Randall Russell, 56, on a criminal trespass charge after the man refused to leave a residence in the 1400 block of First.

The woman who lives there told Taylor the man walked up to her front porch and asked to use the telephone, then told her to call the police to come get him. The man asked what he had to do to go to jail and refused Taylor’s repeated requests to leave.
