“Justice” will literally be served with a staff of judges, attorneys and other members of the judicial and law enforcement community waiting tables Sept. 25 during a benefit dinner for Court Appointed Special Advocates.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. that Tuesday at the Brownwood Country Club.

Tickets at $20 each are available from any member of the CASA board of directors or through the CASA office, 643-2557.

The wait staff will include District Judge Stephen Ellis, Municipal Judge Don Clements, Brown County Judge Ray West, County Attorney Shane Britton, Justice of the Peace Bryan Thompson, Brownwood Police Chief Virgil Cowin, Early Police Chief Junior Pinson, County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs and others.

CASA is a non-profit organization that advocates in court for abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. CASA volunteers are trained to serve as the “eyes and ears” of the court and make recommendations about what is in the best interest of each child.
