The Lions Clubs of Texas are again offering children with physical disabilities an experience that all children dream about — going to summer camp.
The Texas Lions Club in Kerrville offers special camping programs that serve children who have physical disabilities and type 1 diabetes.
Attending this summer from the area are
Esmeralda Lares of Brownwood, sponsored by Eddie McMillan of the Cisco Lions Club; Ashley Fanning of Brownwood, sponsored by Rusty Rambo of the Bangs Lions Club; Cheyenne McFall of Brownwood, sponsored by Billy Powers of the Lake Brownwood Lions Club; Jordan Peck of Brownwood, sponsored by Paul Palmer; Billy Johnson III of Brownwood, sponsored by Rusty Rambo of Bangs. Darian Chancellor of Early, sponsored by Paul Palmer of the Early Lions Club; and Crystal Clemens of Coleman, sponsored by Eddie McMillan of the Cisco Lions Club.
The Texas Lions Camp offers camping sessions to children ages 7 through 16 who have visual, hearing or physical disabilities. The camp offers a wide variety of activities for campers’ enjoyment, including arts and crafts, field sports, riding horses, swimming, theater and camping out overnight.
The camp is a nonprofit organization, funded by the Lions of Texas and private donations. Children attend the camp at no cost to themselves or their families.
