Special to the Bulletin
Elvis - in the form of tribute artist Johnny Memphis - will make a special appearance at tonight’s Early Chamber of Commerce annual banquet. His show will precede the steak dinner and awards program at Early First United Methodist Church.
The theme for this year’s banquet is “Get in the Game!” The evening will begin with a “meet and greet networking” at 6 p.m. At 6:20 p.m., Johnny Memphis will perform a 30-minute show. Dinner service will begin at 7 p.m. and includes a ribeye steak-and-all-the-trimmings meal.
This year, the chamber has 10 door prizes, each valued at $100. Door prize winners will be chosen in a drawing. Sponsors and ticket holders will each receive “chips” - and have the opportunity to purchase more at the door - and if the number on one of their chips matches the number drawn from the hopper, that person gets to take home the door prize.
“Ten lucky people will receive door prizes,” said Wanda Furgason, chamber community development coordinator.
Each sponsorship level receives a certain number of “chips” for eligibility in the door prize drawings. Each individual ticket holder will receive five chips, or, each table for six will have 30 chips.
After dinner the Member of Year, Citizen of Year, Ambassador of Year, Business of Year and Early Independent School District’s Teacher of Year awards will be presented. Outgoing board members will also receive awards of service.
