Bulletin Staff Report

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas this week in Brownwood as decorations made and fabricated by local volunteers begin to go into place.

“We’re going to be busy all week long getting the decorations up,” Emily Crawford, marketing and tourism manager of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, said Monday.

Some static displays were put into place at the “Traffic T” on Monday. Others will be placed around the Depot Civic and Cultural Center and the Lehnis Railroad Museum where the first Christmas Under the Stars Festival will unfold on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Those events will also be highlighted by the annual Lighted Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Friday, sponsored this year by Southside Church.

Numerous volunteers, including students at Brownwood High School and the Texas State Technical College’s Brownwood Center, have played key roles in creating these displays, which will be in use for years to come.
