Several felony cases were recently heard in 35th District Court in Brown and Mills counties, District Attorney Micheal Murray said.

Monte Taylor Weedon pled guilty to the felony offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and was sentenced to 14 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Shawna Rochelle Grantham, who was on probation for the felony offense of delivery of a controlled substance, was adjudicated and sentenced to five years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. In addition, Grantham pled guilty to the state jail felony of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Melinda Jean Stewart Allen pled no contest to the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to nine months in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
