Whether you have a good roast recipe or a delicious dessert, the MOPS Crock-off fund-raiser will allow Brownwood area cooks to shine. The fund-raiser is set for Sunday, Jan. 8 at Southside Church, located at 1219 Indian Creek.
Interested residents need to register and submit their entry fee by of $10 per dish by Jan. 2. There is no limit on the number of dishes one can enter. Residents will need to bring their slow cooker with the prepared dish at noon on Sunday.
Cash prizes will be awarded along with featuring the winning recipes in the upcoming MOPS cookbook. To be a judge for the Crock-off, judging tickets can be purchased for $5 a person starting at 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 1:45 p.m.
The Crock-off will benefit the Mothers of Preschoolers program and allow them to continue to minister and prepare mothers. The program gives mothers a time to meet and share the different aspects of parenting.
