Police, firefighters and representatives of utilities were on hand Tuesday afternoon in the area behind the Elks Club on West Commerce, where an 18-wheeler snagged an overhead line.

A total of three lines and four utility poles had been pulled down.

The three lines were to the phone company, Harris Broadband and a service line running from a nearby home to a shop, emergency responders on the scene said.

Truck driver Rex Tyler said he was leaving Brownwood, headed for Waco to pick up a load and drive to Amarillo when he had to make a stop on his way out of town.
