A recent traffic stop in Early led to drug and money laundering charges, Early police said.

Sgt. Shawn Dibrell stopped a vehicle with two occupants Monday for a signal violation. Dibrell smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and a burnt marijuana cigarette was located in the front seat, police said.

Further investigation revealed a bag of marijuana and some hydrocodone pills without a prescription. Police located $2,000 and information indicating a plan to purchase more drugs, police said.

Christy McDonald, 41, of Brownwood, was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of money laundering, possession of marijuana under 2 ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3.

Bobby Browne, 46, of Brownwood, was booked on a charge of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.

Deputy Brandon Arnold - formerly of the Brownwood Police Department - arrested Ronald Casanova, 33, of Coleman, on a charge of DWI second offense.

Department of Public Safety trooper Michael Sams arrested Danny Warren, 65, of Rochelle, on charges of DWI third or more and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
