The board of directors of the Brown County Water Improvement District No. 1 will meet at 5 p.m. Monday to consider adoption of the 2011-2012 fiscal year budget and to set treated and untreated water rates.
Consideration of declaring Stage 3 of the drought contingency plan is also scheduled.
The board declined to vote on the budget Tuesday, after Brownwood City Manager Bobby Rountree asked that no rate increases be levied. The proposed budget included a 2.05 percent rate increased for treated water, and a 3.47 percent rate increase for untreated water. The board must have a budget before the fiscal year begins Sept. 1.
Action related to the district's drought contingency plan will also be considered, as will discussion and possible implementation of Stage 3 of the plan. Resolutions regarding termination of the district's current employee Defined Benefit Plan and initiation of a Defined Contribution Benefit Plan are also on the agenda.
The meeting will be held at the water district office at 501 E. Baker, Brownwood.
