Brownwood police are investigating the weekend death of an infant.

An autopsy showed no obvious sign of foul play, but the infant, a girl who was just under 3 months old, had been sleeping with her parents, Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley said. He said it is too early to say if there will be any charges filed.

Patrolman Brandon Miller was dispatched to a home in the 3600 block of Third at 12:22 p.m. Sunday on a report that a child had stopped breathing. The child was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, where she was deceased, Miller's report states.

Corley did not release further details, citing the ongoing investigation.
