Brownwood City Council members will consider awarding a bid Tuesday for water system improvements and will also consider approving spending funds from an insurance settlement on trash truck maintenance.
Council members will consider awarding a bid of $178,295 to Municipal Water Works to replace 6-inch water mains at various locations around town.
It is part of an ongoing project to replace cast iron mains. It is the last project of a loan from the Texas Water Development Board.
The council will consider spending funds from an insurance settlement of $35,635 to replace two mechanisms on two sanitation trucks. The settlement is for an August accident on FM 45 that totaled a sanitation truck and was not the fault of the sanitation truck driver.
