A man and a woman remained jailed Thursday after a deputy searched their vehicle around midnight Tuesday and found about 10 grams of methamphetamine, authorities said.
Christopher Lovett, 25, and Cynthia Webb, 39, were each booked into the Brown County Jail on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance over 4 grams under 200 grams in a drug free zone, jail records state.
Both suspects have Granbury addresses, according to jail records.
Deputy Brandon Arnold was on patrol when he saw a traffic violation involving a vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of the Value Lodge, 515 E. Commerce, sheriff's investigator Jason Benefield said. Arnold stopped because of the traffic violation and to check the welfare of the vehicle's two occupants, identified as Lovett and Webb, Benefield said.
Arnold obtained consent to search the vehicle and found methamphetamine and items related to the distribution of methamphetamine, Benefield said.
An investigation continues, the investigator said.
