Funeral services for Lenora McKenzie, 94, of Abilene, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

She died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 in Abilene.

She was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Oklahoma to Albert and Lula Maudie Hail Wallace. She married Spencer Morton McKenzie in Ballinger on Feb. 10, 1940, and was a member of the Avenue D Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherrell Howe; two sons-in-law, John Wesley Joy and Gene Perry; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three daughters, Avis Joy, Alta Lee Stithe and Janice Perry; grandchildren, James Howe, Melissa and Melinda Howe and Morty Calhoun; brothers Archie, Robert and Vernon Wallace; and two sisters, Nila Kitchens and Myrtle King.
