David Eugene Goodwin of Goodrich passed away at home on April 7, 2017 with his beloved friend by his side.
David was born on Dec. 4, 1960 in Clewiston, Florida, to Norman Eugene Goodwin and Sara White Ringling. Awaiting him beyond Heaven’s gate were his parents, step father Charles Ringling and brothers Scott Allen and George Parke.
Left behind to cherish his memory are daughter, Keisha Jones and husband Jayme of Brownwood, Shawn Prosen of Lake Jackson, Blake Miller of Brazoria, and Tyler Swart of Goodrich; sister, Marie Armes and husband Clay, and brother Kirk Ringling, all of Junction; grandchildren, Britney, Addison and Jase Jones of Brownwood; niece, Keeley Armes and nephew David “Bear” Terrell II; great-aunt, Rita Lambert of St. Augustine Florida; and special friend, Kimberly West of Goodrich.
David was more than loved by many and he effortlessly commanded the respect of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. At his time of passing David served as Construction Coordinator for ITC with Shell in Deer Park, with whom he had been faithfully employed for 11 years.
David was known for his passions of gliding across the dance floor and being an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. David couldn’t meet a stranger if he strived to; he was very much a people person able to carry on a conversation with anyone he met. Those who knew him will greatly miss his contagious laughter and smile. Living life to the fullest was his credo.
He left behind countless memories, quotes and photos for his loved ones to forever cherish. His untimely passing came as a shock. David yearned for each person he connected with to appreciate life, and in honoring this he concealed his declining health; he is now without pain and once again enjoying life to the fullest with the rest of his family in heaven.
A private burial will be held at the family cemetery in Cleo, owned by Clay and Marie Armes, where he will be laid to rest with his parents and brothers.
