DE LEON — Belva Darlene Snider, 82, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 10, 2017. She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Loyd Clayton Bridges and Belva Mae Brown Bridges. Darlene married Joe R. Snider Sept. 1, 1956, in Pleasanton.
Darlene was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of De Leon. Joe and Darlene lived in Brownwood in their later years, but De Leon was their home for over 53 years. She worked as a CNA for over 20 years. She loved her job and the opportunity it provided her to meet and care for people. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking. She was a devoted homemaker for her family. They were her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by her family and many loving friends.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Joe Snider and wife Patricia; step-daughter, Gail Snider O'Grady; grandchildren, Amy Brantner, De Shai Moody, Falon Eisenhauer, Carrie Snider and Amber Snider; a host of great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 57 years, Joe R. Snider; infant daughter, Tammy Lynn Snider; granddaughter, Chanda Haskins; parents, Loyd and Belva Bridges; brother, Bud Bridges; and sister, Nelda Harper.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home, De Leon, with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Darlene was laid to rest beside her husband in De Leon Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to De Leon First Baptist Church, in memory of Darlene.
