Elmer Lee Vaughan of North Lake Brownwood, passed away at the age of 83 years. Funeral services, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday June 16, 2017, at the North Lake Community Church, 3131 Harbor Drive, May, TX 76857, with Pastor Ron Keener officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Michael Tibbetts, Jeremy Vaughan, Travis Vaughan, Jonathan Tibbetts, Tanner Vaughan, and Jeff Dixon; Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Deforrester, Kade Comeaux, Lucas Simon, Dale McKinney, and Buck Barnes
Lee is survived by his wife of 65 years, Avis June Vaughan. They have five children: Lex Vaughan of Mississippi, Loy Akens and husband Tim of Abilene, Lance Vaughan and wife Kathy of Argyle, Ladd Vaughan of North Lake Brownwood, LeAnna Lange and husband Ken of Georgetown. They have nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special caregiver, Vicki Robertson.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Vaughan; two sisters; one brother; and a grandson.
