A celebration of life for Richard (Rick) Carlton Shaffer will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday, July 10 at the Brownwood Country Club, 5875 CR 225, in Brownwood. We ask that you wear Rick's favorite color of orange on this day.

Rick passed away at the age of 62 on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Brownwood.

He was born May 7, 1955 in El Paso. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University and worked at Shaffer Motor Company. He loved God, golf, friends and family — especially his grandchildren who called him “poo poo.”

Survivors include his wife, Susie Shaffer; daughter, Tiffaney Shaffer; son, Blake Shaffer and daughter-in-law Elishia Shaffer; grandson, Tristyn Shaffer; granddaughter, Blakelynn Shaffer; two brothers, Bill Shaffer and wife Jerry Louise of Tennessee, and David Shaffer and wife Suzanne of Dallas; and many other family and friends that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Adolphus Shaffer; and his mother, Sally Ann Shaffer.
