Daryl Wayne Pannell Sr., 66, of Natural Dam, Arkansas and formerly of Brownwood, passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, in Wichita Falls, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services for Daryl will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Jenkins Springs Cemetery with Pastor Terry Simmons officiating. There is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Daryl was born on Jan. 12, 1951 to Roy and Dellean Pannell in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He lived most of his life in Brown County, where he was a long-time painting contractor. He was a hard worker who enjoyed his jobs. He retired to Natural Dam, Arkansas.

Daryl is survived by his mother, Dellean Pannell of West Plains, Missouri; two sons, Wayne Pannell and wife Pamela of Bangs, and Matthew Pannell and wife Elizabeth of Brownwood; three grandchildren, Ginny Pannell of San Angelo, Jacey Pannell of Bangs, and Caden Mendez of Brownwood; two brothers, Roy Pannell and wife Melanie of Cedarville, Arkansas, and Ricky Pannell of Brownwood; two sisters, Karen Walker of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Donna Woten and husband Larry of West Plains, Missouri; favorite cousin, Trin Vinson; special companion, Trudy Smith; and his furry companion, Baby Girl. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends across Texas and Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Pannell, who greeted him at Heaven’s gates.
