COLEMAN — Arnold Ramirez, 65, of Coleman, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 in the Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1000 Clow, Coleman, with Rev. Dick Schultz officiating and assisted by Emilio Diaz and Greg Risse. During the service, other friends and family will be given an opportunity to share memories of Arnold. Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Arnold Santos Ramirez was born Sept. 3, 1951 in Coleman, a son of David Ramirez and LeNora Alcala Ramirez. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School, Class of 1970. In 1972 he married Dora Guerrero in Coleman. Following their marriage, they lived in Coleman and Fort Worth, and settled in Coleman fourteen years ago. Arnold was an upholsterer for many years, both in Fort Worth and Coleman. He loved working on his 1970 Chevy and even upholstered the seat covers for it. He enjoyed fishing, loved his grandbabies, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Central Texas Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Ramirez of Coleman; three children, Saul Ramirez and wife Heather of Coleman, Amanda Ramirez of Coleman, LaDora Basaldu and husband Michael of Coleman; one brother, Andy Ramirez and wife Karen of Fort Worth; one sister, Diana Alfaro of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren, Eric Gomez, Cooper Bryan, Dylan Gibney, Saul Ramirez Jr., Elijah Ramirez, Debany Basaldu, Hailey Basaldu, Gabriella Ramirez, Logan Gibney, Melody Basaldu, Juan Ramirez; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and LeNora Ramirez; as well as two brothers, David Ramirez Jr. and Saul Ramirez; and a sister, Lily Sanchez.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan, Coleman, Texas 76834.
