Bonnie Evans, 87, of Elm Grove, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 in her home surrounded by loved ones. Bonnie was born on Oct. 25, 1930 in Bowse to Edgar Johnson and May Burk Johnson.

Bonnie married Junior Evans on Oct. 1, 1950 in Elm Grove. Bonnie and Junior farmed and ranched their entire lives where Bonnie was known and loved for her cooking, sewing, flowers, and a willing gate opener when Junior needed one. Bonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland Springs where she also taught Sunday school for various classes. She was an active supporter of young people and Richland Springs ISD activities including the sports teams and drama department.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Melissa Evans of Arlington; daughter-in-law Linda Evans of Brownwood; grandchildren, Nathan Evans of Austin, and Emily Evans of Chicago, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior; her son, David; her sister, Mary Francis McDowell; and her brother, H. B. Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5 at the Richland Springs First Baptist Church with Dr. Barry Fikes and G.W. Neiderhofer officiating. Interment will be at Varga Chapel Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Richland Springs ISD, Elm Grove Volunteer Fire Department, or donor’s favorite charity.
