Olevia Jolene Brewer, 74, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully at Hendrick Medical Center on Jan. 9, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.

Jolene or "Amma," as her grandkids lovingly referred to her as, was born on Oct. 5, 1943 in Brownwood to Joseph Spurlock and Olevia Spurlock Dudley. On Aug. 12, 1960, she married Charles Jefferson Brewer of May. Together they had two children, Charles Jefferson Brewer Jr. and Charla Jo Brewer Airheart. For over 30 years, Jolene ran an in-home daycare, and she loved each child she cared for as her own. She never met a stranger and would always greet you with a hug and a smile. Jolene had a heart of gold and loved with everything she had, and was as honest as the day was long. She was an avid animal lover and valued nothing more than her family. Her sisters were her best friends, and her husband of 57 years, her kids, and her grandkids were her prized possessions.

Jolene is survived by her husband, Charles Brewer Sr. of Brownwood; her daughter, Charla Airheart and husband Tim of Brownwood; her grandchildren, Keagan Gilmore and husband Kyle of Brownwood; Charles Alton Brewer of Brownwood; Makahla Brewer of Coleman; Krysta and Kayleigh Airheart of Brownwood; Amber Tupin and husband Rusty of Early; and Rita Dickson and husband Darcy of Floresville; six great-grandchildren, Rylee and Rustin Tupin; Liam and Ella Dickson; Olevia Gilmore; and Ava Bryant; her sister, Frances Peters of Granbury; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Spurlock; her mother, Olevia Spurlock Dudley; her step-father, C.B. Dudley; her son, Charles Brewer Jr.; her sister, Charlene Rinewalt; and her great-grandaughter, Breyla Bryant.

Funeral services for Olevia Jolene Brewer will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at Heartland Funeral Home with Doug Hurt officiating. Burial to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at the funeral home.
