A time of visitation for family and friends of John W. Warren, 97, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 at Heartland Funeral Home.

John Walter Warren, born April 13, 1920, went to be with his heavenly Father on Feb. 23, 2018. John served his country as a Naval Aircraft Inspector in World War II. After the war, he worked for Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo, California, and later he worked in civil service for the federal government. John retired in 1973 and moved to Lake Brownwood.

John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virginia Alice Warren; sons, John Wayne Warren and Danny Joe Warren; step-daughters, Susan Ann Bullion-Junek, Patricia Lane Ferreiro; step-sons, William Orlando Evans, Richard Austin Nunnelee, and Larry Lynn Nunnelee. He was also blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his twin brother, George Warren; his first wife, Frances Lane Warren; and his daughter, Sharron Diane Warren.

John was known by family and friends as “Johnny.” He was a generous and kind person who loved life and celebrated every day to the fullest.  He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
