Ashley Zabel-Walters, 24, of Early, is now singing with the angels. She passed away in her home on Feb. 27, 2018 following an unexpected illness. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Robby Martin officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
Ashley was born in Brownwood on Feb. 5, 1994. She attended high school in Early where she proudly participated in color guard and marching band. She worked as a Certified Nurse Aide, caring for the elderly up until her illness. Ashley had an infectious laugh that brightened up the world. She will be missed by so many.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Charles and Gwen Walters of Early; biological mother, Christy Crawford and husband Richard; siblings Kelsie Russell, Tayler Walters and fiancée Kyler Faulkner, Dillon Walters, Charlie Walters III, Sheri Barron and husband Gary, Cody Zabel, Richie Crawford, Richard Crawford, Betty Sue Jolly and husband Kyle, Jennifer Burcham and husband Daniel, and Shelby Shields; grandparents, Louise Shields, Betty Walters, Charles and Judy Walters, and Jerry Zabel; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Leo Shields, James Walters; and a niece, Jazmyn Barron.
