Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she spent her life serving Him by serving others. She taught Sunday school for many years, worked VBS, prepared Wednesday meals for youth ministry, worked as church janitor, was on prayer chains, assisted with funeral meals, church anniversary celebrations and much more. Outside the church she gave rides to doctor appointments, the senior citizen, did homebound Sunday school lessons, Bible studies, and home visitations.
Barbara served her family as a good and faithful housewife and mom while the family was home. Later she worked outside the home taking census, doing wedding planning, peddling cantaloupe, working at a donut shop, selling insurance just to mention a few.
She loved the Lord, family, church, and friends. She had great pride in her children and did not mind taking your time to report how well she thought of them. One might say her grandchildren were spoiled by her but they would say they were loved special by her. Her entire adult life was spent being a vital and active part of her church as a servant and worker. And if she ever put you into her category of friend you were cherished by her.
Mrs. Day is survived by son, Gary Day and wife Robin of Early/Abilene; daughter, Cindy Peterson and husband Wayland of Early; son, Bill Day and wife Kathy of Pleasanton. She has 7 grandchildren: Jeremy Day, Mark Day, Nathan Peterson, Jason Peterson, Jerry Day, Jenni Bleth and Jacob Day. There are 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a great host of family and friends.
