James Ray Denison, age 85, of Brownwood, known to many as “Uncle James,” passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on May 19, 2018. James was born April 30, 1933 in Brownwood, and married the Love of his life Helen Moore on July 16, 1955.

James Joined the Airforce in 1953 and served 22 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His favorite hobbies were fishing, shuffle board, watching Texas Longhorn Football and hanging out at “Moore’s-ville” family farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Helen Moore Denison, Brother Tom Denison and wife, Sister in Law Norma Denison, Brother in laws Mike Ratliff, Herman Moore, J.C. Elkins, and Lawrence Elkins. Daughter Alicia Davis and husband Kendall of Ft. Worth, 3 Sons Greg Denison and wife Kayce of Brownwood, Brandon Denison and wife Deana of Brownwood, Keith Denison and wife Karen of Brownwood; Grandchildren Stephanie, Shaunta, Brittney, Sara, Kendra, Cameron, Brinlee Ray, John Paul, Jennifer, Alyssa, McKenzie, and Justin; 18 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents Shorty and Ethel Denison, Brother Clifford Denison, and a Nephew Ricky Denison.
