Kathy L. Couch, 65, of Brownwood, passed away Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday June 29 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in May. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, also at the church.
Kathy was born in Seminole to Sidney and Fronia Scantling. She attended Seminole and Dublin Independent School Districts. As an adult, Kathy loved her family and spreading the word of God, she was very active in her church, mentoring others and helping in many different capacities. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and also had a very creative capacity for sewing.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Couch; sister, Juanita Scantling; and brother Bueford Scantling.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Pastor Richard Couch of Brownwood; son, Monty Couch and his wife Mary Kay of Austin; daughter, April McCall and her husband Chris of Edmond Oklahoma; sister, Nora Whitely of Stephenville; and brothers, Freddy Scantling and Donald Scantling. Kathy was blessed to have known her grandchildren: Chad Crook, Katy Parsons, Dalton Couch, Johnny Crook, Wyatt Couch, Alexis McCall, Zoey McCall, Kiersten Purdan, Jacob Nava; and four great-grandchildren. Kathy also leaves her Pleasant Grove Baptist Church family, and a host of extended family and many friends.
