Edward Allen Burnett, 86, passed away on Aug. 13, 2018. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at the Jayton Cemetery, Jayton, TX 79528.

Ed was born June 20, 1932 at a house in Coleman County. He attended school in May while working on the farm before becoming a lineman at age 19. He married Karen Ilene Miller and their union was blessed with three children.

Ed was a cowboy, he loved horses and all animals. His family says and those that knew him will agree, Ed was born 100 years too late. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out at family outings. As a young man, Ed was a busy body, always doing something. As he grew older, Ed stayed in touch with family and spent more time on the phone checking on his kids and grandkids daily.

Ed is survived by his son, Ricky and wife Jimi Sue Burnett of Lampasas; two daughters, Vickie and husband Jack Perry of Big Spring, and Pam Mutter of Roswell, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
