Bryan Alexander Makuta, 45, of Sweetwater, passed away at his residence Friday, Oct. 5, 2018. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Michael Light officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. There will be a family visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Fourth and Elm Saturday, Oct. 13.

Bryan was born Feb. 13, 1973 in Brownwood. He was a graduate of Brownwood High School in 1991. He married Kathryn Leigh Doerschuk Dec. 22, 2001 in Clyde.

Bryan was a Boy Scout and earned the highest ranking as an Eagle Scout. He worked for 3M in Brownwood for 20 years. He spent 8 years in the Army National Guard in the State of Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Makuta of Sweetwater; a son, Bryan Alexander Makuta Jr. of San Angelo; daughter, Canda Elaine Richards and husband Lane of Brownwood; grandson, Canlan Bryan Richards; father, Kenneth Dean Makuta of Bangs; mother, Karlene Merriman and husband Jim of Brownwood; sister, Paige Grimes of Brownwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Alexander Makuta Jr., Lane Richards, Michael Doershcuk, John Doerschuk, Jr., D.J. Shahan, Justin Doerschuk, and Jacob Doerschuk. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Doerschuk and Douglas Doerschuk.
