Graveside funeral services for Robert Wayne Colvin, 77, of Brownwood, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Ricky Cavitt officiating under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Wayne passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in Brownwood to Grady and Minnie Long Colvin. He was a lifelong resident of Brownwood and member of Central United Methodist Church. Wayne graduated from Brownwood High School in 1947, attended Daniel Baker College, and graduated from Howard Payne University. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force at Goodfellow Air Force Base and in the National Guard. Wayne was a self-employed businessman.
Wayne is survived by a son, Bobby Colvin and wife, DeAnn, of Brownwood, three daughters, Leslie Milan and husband, Joey, of Aledo, Susan Gant and husband, Greg, of Allen, and Toni Pfluger of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Chelsey Colvin, Kinsey Cumba, Robert Colvin, Hannah Gant and Spencer Gant; and a great-grandson, Mason Miranda. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Florence Hannah Franks, and a former wife, Maria Tomme.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J.V. Wilkes of Sand Mountain, Ala.; and two sisters, Bernice Fuller of Sand Mountain, Ala., and Maurine Ellett of Brownwood.
